Keyword Difficulty (KD)
Definition
Keyword Difficulty (also known as SEO difficulty or ranking difficulty) is a measure of how hard it would be to rank on the first page of search results for a specific keyword. It takes into account various factors, including the authority and quality of websites currently ranking for that keyword.
While Google Search Console doesn't provide a direct keyword difficulty score, you can gain insights into difficulty by analyzing your average position for different queries. Keywords where you struggle to achieve a high ranking despite relevant content may be considered more difficult. Understanding keyword difficulty helps in prioritizing your SEO efforts and setting realistic expectations for ranking improvements.
